Bedroom 11 X 14

What are ideal bedroom sizes? I've been making 3x3 rooms in all my saves since like 2016, but I'm not sure why I decided on that size and if it's actually good.

I did a fair bit of research on this a while back, and it seemed the general agreement is that 5x5 rooms are the most efficient. Not too big, not too small, enough benefits to warrant the size cost

level 2

Is that a 5×5 interior or exterior?

level 2

I do 5x6, slightly bigger, but I can center the double bed on one wall and the door on the other.

OMG I just saw it. Completely unintentional

Also, I'm speaking mostly realistically. I'm sure an 11x11 room would be nice for the spacious interior buff, but I'm not sure if that' even worth it. Basically, what's the smallest I can make a room so that it's "good enough" and will give my pawn a net positive experience.

level 2

It's not as simple as that, beauty, cleanliness, wealth and size all play a part In improving the rooms 'impresiveness'. If you want the long answer you'll have to look at the wiki if you want the short answer: I'd go 5*5 and stick a couple of statues in there.

Throw in a pot plant , some art, a nice floor covering and keep the temps comfortable and all nit the most picky colonists should be good.

level 2

I build around 5x5 internal btw.

level 1

I like to do a 10×1 with the bed at the very end, all stacked against eachother in a row like piano keys. I call it the "scary hallway where I sleep" method. It sucks but it makes me laugh

Isn't a 2x3 set of 3x5 bedrooms 11x11? Surprised you don't use that.

level 1

5 by 6 is considered average and it meshes nicely with large rooms. My standard base design is a row of 11 by 17 rooms with a line of 5 by 6 bedrooms on each side.

Next step up is 5 by 11 and it's not a big difference in mood

level 1

my pawns seem happy with furnitured 3x5, but seeing how much tynan experiments and changes values in the 1.0 versions everything might change

12-16 tiles gives slightly impressive to impressive. 5x5 is unnecessary.

level 1

All my main rooms are 11*11 internal, so my bedroom are 11*3. That way I get exactly three bedrooms to a main room, and my pawns seem to think it's fine.

Just a quick note because I was slightly confused by your post: if you want to type a *, you need to escape it with a \ or it'll italicize the text in between whichever two it can find.
